SKI and Snowboard Lessons

First time on the slopes? Just need a refresher? Our team of more than 50 professional instructors will help you get the most out of your experience at Chestnut Mountain Resort. Our knowledgeable instructors are serious about teaching you skills, but they’re focused on the fun. At our Ski School, you’ll improve your snow sports abilities and have a great time.

Group Lessons, Times & Rates

$35/hour for group, $75/hour for private. Private or semi-private lessons can be arranged. Children must be 7 years old or older to be in a group lesson.

Group Lesson Times:  

9:30 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 2:30 pm, 4 pm & *6 pm

Lesson times may change depending on hours of operation.  CLICK HERE to see the daily slope hours

* No 6 pm lessons on Sundays.

(Special 6 pm Lessons on holiday Sundays, Jan. 19 & Feb. 16.)

Private Lessons

One Hour (1 person) – $75

Powder Pups

Program Details

A parent or guardian will be required to be on-premises when children are participating in our programs. We encourage you to watch your child’s progress from a discreet distance, so they will not be distracted during their lessons. Instructors will utilize a mountain paging system to notify you if any concerns arise during the lesson. You may also leave messages for your children or family members at the Children’s Center. Our programs fill up fast and reservations are required. Registrations start at 8:30 am. Please allow a half hour to register your child at the Children’s Center.

POWDER PUPS PROGRAM (AGES 4-10)

Chestnut Mountain’s Powder Rangers Program is designed for 4-10-year-olds who want to improve their skills on the slopes. The program is playful yet challenging and led by instructors who specialize in teaching youth skiers. All classes are grouped by age and ability level, ensuring that each young skier is matched up with their peers on the peak.

Half-Day Lesson Times:

Saturday, Sunday & *Holidays (9 am to 12 pm & 1 pm to 4 pm)

Half-day Lesson: $160 (Without Rental)  $208 (Includes Rental).  All Powder Pups lessons include the use of a helmet.

Reservations are required. Registration opens at 8:30 am. Please allow a half hour to register your child at the Children’s Center.

Learn To Ride Program (Ages 7 and up)
The biggest name in snowboarding has teamed up with Chestnut Mountain to provide new riders with a solid foundation on which to build their skills. The Learn To Ride (LTR) Program was developed to eliminate the stressful pressures of learning a new sport and make it fun, easy and enjoyable. It’s the perfect program for beginner boarders.

Program details

Together, the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI), the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI), Burton Snowboards and rental shops around the globe have established a learning program that really works. All aspects of the Learn-To-Ride Center are designed by riders, for riders. Beginners will feel comfortable enough on a board to be linking turns on their first day out.

BURTON LEARN TO RIDE PROGRAM RATES

Program Includes: Lift Ticket, Snowboard Rental, & 2-Hour Lesson
Cost: $160 (Saturday, Sunday & *Holidays)
*Holiday Dates: Dec. 25 through Jan. 3, Jan. 20, and Feb. 17.)
