Find your flow on the Farside Gravity Bike Park

Grab your bike and rise to the challenge on our lift-serviced downhill mountain biking trails. The Farside Bike Park, one of the largest of its kind in the Midwest, features six gravity-based, downhill bike trails. Spend the day navigating more than 7 acres or take a spin through the bike park skills development area where beginners learn new tricks and experienced riders hone their techniques.

Bike Park Requirements

  • Helmets must be worn at all times on all downhill mountain bike trails and in the skills development area. We recommend the use of full-face helmets.
  • Equipment allowed in the Farside Bike Park is limited to mountain bikes, adaptive equipment, and other equipment approved in advance by the resort. Trailers, mountain boards, child seats, tandem bikes, and unauthorized motor vehicles are not allowed in the park or on the chairlift.
  • Only no-throttle Class 1 E-bikes are permitted.
  • Sturdy closed-toed sneakers with heels are required.
  • First Aid services are only available during chairlift operating hours.
  • There is no age minimum for the bike park. However, bike tires need to be a minimum of 20” and children must be competent riders to use the chairlift.
  • A signed waiver is required to use the bike park; a parent or guardian signature is required for riders under 18.

Mountain Biker's Responsibility Code

Mountain biking involves a risk of serious injury or death. Please follow these tips to ensure the safety of yourself and others:
  • STAY IN CONTROL. You’re responsible for avoiding objects and people
  • KNOW YOUR LIMITS. Ride within your ability. Start small and work your way up.
  • PROTECT YOURSELF. Use an appropriate bike, helmet and other protective equipment.
  • INSPECT AND MAINTAIN YOUR EQUIPMENT. Know your components and their operation before riding.
  • BE LIFT SMART. Know how to load, ride and unload lifts safely. If you need help, ask.
  • INSPECT TRAILS AND FEATURES. Conditions change constantly; plan and adjust your riding accordingly.
  • OBEY SIGNS AND WARNINGS. Ride on marked trails only. Keep off closed trails and non-designated bike trails (ski trails and glades). Ride in the direction indicated.
  • BE VISIBLE. Do not stop where you obstruct a trail, feature or landing, or are not visible.
  • LOOK AND YIELD TO OTHERS. Check both ways and yield when entering or crossing a road or trail. When overtaking, use caution and yield to those ahead.
  • ID YOURSELF. If you are involved in, or witness an incident, please identify yourself to staff.
